Fátima - the Virgin´s celebration, 13 May 2007

On the 13th of May, the Virgin Mary´s celebration from Fátima, I didn´t miss the chance to see for the first time live this important holiday, where people from all over the world gather, as I´ve seen until then only on TV.

I was there with Luciana, from Brazil, trainee in Lisbon, also.

We left in the morning, went by bus..in one hour we got there. There were already a lot of people there, but we managed to filter in through the crowd, as far as the square where the religious mees was supposed to take place.

The crowd of people in the square in front of the church of Fátima, where the religious mess took place

It was impressive to see so many people coming also from other continents here to Fátima, to celebrate the apparition miracle from 1917.
