First contact with the Portuguese antique art

On Sunday I went to the National Museum of Antique Art, maybe the most important in the country. I wanted to visit museums for a long time, but apparently so far I've visited other things in the weekends.

The location is very good, it´s on a high point, close to river Tejo. there is a very beautiful view over the port and the city.

Inside, a lot of pieces of art, beginning with the XIV-XV centuries and ending with XX century; in majority from Portugal, but also many from China, less from Japan and India.

It´s a big museum, with many things to see and also very interesting. After 2-3 hours I started to get tired; I entered in the interior yard of the museum, charming, like a terrace, with tables under trees with violet flowers (theywere in flower then), with statues, fountains and a great view over the city. It´s a place that inspires quiteness, calm, almost absence of time.
It was a beautiful day. I´ll come back to this museum.
