Romanian evening - my country presentation
Lat weekend, on Saturday, we organized "at home" the Romanian evening (country presentation and traditional Romanian dinner). We had 8 guests, not many, but of quality :-) : 2 Portuguese members of AIESEC Católica (the LCP and the VP Fin), the Brazilian trainee, Marcos, the Italian flatmates, and of course, Ovidiu.
We arranged the living room in Romanian style: the Romanian flag and the map of the country on the wall, brochures with Romania, Cluj-Napoca, Mures, Transylvania on the tables, also some traditional things: a traditional bottle for tuica, an arrangement with painted Easter eggs, a small hat typical for the region of Maramures, some small dolls in national costume, a small Romanian calendar, a traditonal sack...
We put Romanian music..I started the presentation with the short movie "Romania Simply Surprising" of Ogilvy; Zé, the VP Fin saw it before. They liked it; it couldn´t of been other way, the movie is very well done and touching...I continued with a more detailed description of different aspects of Romania, of course with a lot of pictures from different parts of the country.

One of the Italian girls, after she saw the presentation, said that she didn´t think that Romania is so beautiful, and that she wants to know more about it...Marcos asked about the significance of the colours of the flag, and was interested also in other aspects. It´s so nice to see that the people are interested to find out more about your country and it´s traditions. On the background Romanian music was on; what they all recognized was O-zone, "Dragostea din tei" :))

We started the dinner with some shots of "tuica", of course...they didn´t thought that it will be so strong - that´s the plum tuica from Maramures :)). Poor Paolo...he wasn´t used to strong drinks..he became red after one shot. Next on the menu, the traditional "mamaliga" with cheese and sour cream - they liked it, not so much the ones that preferred meat, which appreciated more the second dish, "sarmale" with sour cream (or without - depending on the taste). As desert - pancakes with jam and chocolate. One of the Italian girls asked for the recipe (I gave it the next day translated in Italian :-) ).
After dinner, we played some AIESEC games..as the majority of us were AIESEC-ers...anyway also the others found them funny. We played "buzz"..and it was so amuzing to see that the people couldn´t follow the succession of numbers, after a shot of tuica :))
This was my country presentation; I believe (hope) that it was interesting for them to find out more things about Romania.
